The Dancing Crab & Casallena

The Dancing Crab
The Grandstand 200 Turf Club Road
(Old Turf Club in Bt. Timah)
#01-20/21
Singapore 287994

There is a free shuttle to and from Clementi and Toa Payoh MRT.

We went to another of those inaccessible place for early dinner. Reached around 5-5.30pm there wasnt any queue.

After we were seated one of the servers told us we only had an hour before they need the table back. Hmmm ok. The place was not even packed then.

So we ordered one of the combo bags. Our server said there is a promo for dungeness crab upgrade from our sri lankan crab. The upgrade price is probably like 50$ more or so. I dont remember. Anyway we decided to stick with the original combo bag. Maybe the server wasn't pleased that we didnt take up his offer because things went downhill from there.

We ordered also the lobster roll. He asked if we want anything else because it will take very long for us to add on orders. I said we might add on some starters but we still wanna look and decide in a while. He said ok and collected all the menus. I told him to leave one behind and he said that there isnt enough menu to go around so if we want to order later he will pass it to us. Huh? OK. No additional orders then.

We didnt order any drinks and werent asked either. Waited for a while before our lobster roll was delivered and turned out we can self service ourselves for water.

Lobster roll looks nice. But only the bread and fries are not too bad. I asked the girls if we wanna order the fries side then they reminded me about what our lovely server said about additional order and waiting time. Fine. No more fries then. Hahhah.

The combo bag was good. Sauce is not bad. Crab and prawns are fresh. Very little though I feel but xiu said the price is ok.

In the end we spent around 30$ each there and still unsatisfied so we went to another place nearby. Service here is much better. Food is not bad too.

We ordered the mushroom soup which xiu said is good. Hawaiian pizza which is also not bad with the always welcomed stringy melted cheese. Also apple crumble and White chocolate raspberry cake. Both are alright. Felt much better after this meal.

Definitely not going back to dancing crab. Will reconsider casallena only because of the location.

Too Faced Liquified Long Wear Lipstick

Saw this lipstick at Sephora some time a go but didnt really pay much attention to it since I already got a number of new ones. Was thinking that I havent had any Too Faces product yet and I've always liked their packaging so why dont just give it a try. So I did. Lipstick true colour will really only show once you apply them on your lips. Tried so many Laneige shades and I only suit the orangey tone ones. Initially wanted the pink tones. But none look good on my lips.

Tried all the shades for this lipstick too. But none suits me. Got this picture from the toofaced website. Total 6 shades. All super gorgeous but only the coral shade looks alright on me. Am currently obsessed with this lipstick.

The shape and applicator reminds me of one of the Etude House lipsticks. Maybe I will do a review on that next time. I think it really suits matte look application. Helps to really get into the crease and smooth it out and it really helps when you dont want to overdo it, you just have to use whatever is leftover from your previous application over your lips.

This is the first time I tried it on at Sephora. Went home and checked it out on the mirror and its still intact. Decided to get there and then but it was out of stock for quite some time. I might have my chachatint underneath. It looks more red than its actual colour in this picture.

On my way home to my hometown. #shamelessselfie on the airplane. No one was sitting next to me of course. I took a bazzilion shots hahahahah #oops. It looks a little glossy because I applied my lipbalm on top of it. #habit. I think it looks so much better with a hint of gloss in the centre. Gives the #youknowyouwannakissme feel. Hahahahahah #pukes. Whatever.

Too Faced Liquified Long Wear Lipstick
Melted Coral

Pros
Good colour payoff.
Pretty long lasting.
More to the matte side (some people really like this).
Good applicator.

Cons:
Creases a little (when you smile you can see lines on your lips so you have to smooth it out a little after a while).
Not very moisturising.

Rating: 4.5/5

Clio Lipnicure

I was watching some videos online and chanced upon this lipnicure. Have been seeing Clio products around but has never been tempted to give any of it a try till I see this item. The thing that caught my attention was - it's supposed to be very tough to remove.

Its the Clip Lipnicure which stands for most probably lip manicure seeing it comes with a lip primer and also a top coat (the clear gloss).

Colour swatches from top to bottom:
No.6 Rumor Coral
No.3 Crime Pink (the one I'm holding)
No.5 Revenge Pink (supposedly one of the more popular ones but so not my colour)

Comes with a tiny curved applicator. You are supposed to apply one layer on and leave it to dry for 30seconds and after that its smudge proof. I did the test on my hand and bought one immediately after 30secs is over. It didn't budge at all!! So incredibly amazing! And Im telling you when I do the scrub test, I scrub HARD. The first picture with swatches is what they look like almost 3hrs after I apply them on. I went for a movie and dinner after and they are still instact.

Amazing on the hand. BUT. I applied my fantabulous pink shade on my lips before the movie and applied bit of balm on top since it feels matte and dry and when I came out I went to the toilet to have a look and behold a grotesque sight. The lipnicure was flaking off. Patches here and there. I did a scrub test on my lips after 30secs before the movie and all is good, it wouldnt budge and and looks ok for first try - was trying to scrub off some mistakes. You need to practice before you get too adventurous start wearing this out. Since it dries off pretty quickly it also means you gotta work faster in smoothing out your mistakes too.

So, i was starting to panic, dont tell me I have to look like this for the next few hours since I still need to meet Jan for dinner and movie. So i started wiping them off and guess what, it came off easily. I think my balm acts as a diluter or remover somehow. Great!

This is what it looks like with JUST a single coat of the lipnicure. Not loving the look! My lips are too dark for this shade, you can still see the edges. That's also why I applied my balm on top when I first tried it. After application you really need to leave it alone for 30secs. I made the mistake of smacking my lips (bad habit) and it messed the whole thing up. After it dries off it feels like you have a little layer of gloss on your lips. It certainly doesnt look like it.

I went back to try it on with the primer and topcoat to see if it will make any difference.

Scrub test after I got home.
This shade is No7. Tension Red.
My balm is really good in acting as a remover. The primer and topcoat makes it easier to remove too. I would say the topcoat feels like any normal transparent gloss. I no longer use this sort of gloss so it doesnt apply to me at all. Primer kinda feels like a normal lipstick yellowish kind of lipbalm.  Im not interested too. What freaking annoys me is i got it full price at Watsons  and when I walked to the other Watsons at PS, it was on 20% off #fml.
On another note, I bought a pair of boyfriend jeans today at Cotton On that Ive been eyeing for the longest time and when I was finally getting it, my bill had 40% off!! #unfmlx2 bwahah so exciting.

This lipnicure will highlight any cracks and  wrinkles you have on your lips. Pre scrubbing is highly recommended. Going for darker might look better too if your lips is not smooth like mine. The matte dark bloody red look is super nice. But I'm in my pinkish craze nowadays. My lips usually suits only orangey colours so i'm try to be a little experimental with lighter shades.

You can easily remove this with oil based make up remover. I tried with my eye&lipmakeup  remover and also my cleansing oil. Both works fine. If you are even more lazy than I am, just apply some gloss or balm before you reach home and by the time you hit the toilet it will probably be ready to remove. Wahah.

This is what it looks like after around 1.5hrs of me drinking and eating my tiramisu. I didnt apply anything else on top.

Most likely i will not get another one. Unless i learn how to work this better on my lips. Even the moussey etude house lips-fit is easier to apply. At most keep you just have to keep erasing and applying till it looks ok. There is no immediate erase for this lipnicure.

Laneige Serum Intense Lipstick

Yepp. My switch is now up for new lip colours! Have been very loyal to my Benefit Chacha Tint but I dont know why it just feels too red nowadays. I'm gunning for lighter colours or something more orange vs reddish tint. Though Chacha is orange, I think it turns into a reddish hue on my lips after a while. Hating my natural smoker lips colour and I dont even smoke #damnit.

Amy and I went to this Laneige workshop. And during the demo the makeup artist mentioned that their serum intense lipstick is what Cheon Song Yi used in My Love From The Stars. What! I thought that was the YSL lipstick. Xiu told me that it was on waiting list because or the show. Anyway, the shade CSY used was Neon Orange. I was obsessed with getting that colour. Ordered it online and here it is. Ta daaa..

Laneige Serum Intense Lipstick in YR25 Neon Orange. The tube feels light! Feels like Im holding a miniature version of their time freze serum.

I really need to whiten my hands. Grrr. The shade looks very dark here. Not much natural light today. Weather is perfect! Less sun much wind and Im pretty sure thunderstorm will follow later on.

First application. Used the tube directly. Im still waiting for my lipbrush to arrive. #hurryup! Feels light a brighter version of my chacha tint. Very moisturising. No wonder they call it serum intense. I've tried another pinkish colour at the Laneige counter and surprisingly this range of lipsticks has a considerably strong staying power. We were walking around for an hour after the application and the lipstick colour still looked good! Did not expect that at all. Usual lipsticks do not last that long for me since I have the habit of constantly drinking water from the bottle, smacking & licking my lips.

After blotting. Mattified the look a little. Looks better after I dabbed the lipstick a few more times at the center portions of my lips.

Dabbed a little of my lipbalm at the centre. Its really very moist hence the glossy look so no gloss or balm is required after that.

Laneige was having a 20% sale for birthday month so I got this bright red shade. Have been wanting to get a red colour but I'm still trying to gather my guts to try it out because it's so bold!

No blotting, no gloss, just swipes of Luminous Red. I feel that somehow the red changes to orange after a while on my lips hahaha.. Maybe I'm just somehow a yellow person who converts everything to orange. Does that even make sense hahah. Initially I wanted to get a pink shade but none of them looks good on me and I was in my shopping spree mood so might as well make use of the 20%. Wahoo.

Lunch at Wheeler's Yard

Met up with Xiu to go to one of those out-of-nowhere places again for lunch. I always regret the moment im nearby and have to start looking for the place. But we still always go anyway, why..? Hahah

Wheeler's Yard
28 Lorong Ampas.
Nearest MRT: NONE hahaha
Ok its somewhere between Toa Payoh and Novena.
I took a 20mins bus ride from Scotts which took forever to come. I think my wait was longer than the bus ride. Yes, i might exaggerate but when you are under the midday sun everything seems much longer than it really is.

The place is free seating and you first place order and make payment at the counter. After that they will give you a buzzer and everytime it buzzes you go up to collect your food. No service charge so tipping is encouraged - read that somewhere in the cafe.

We reached the place before noon and it was still empty but lunch crowd started pouring in right after.

Apple cider for me and lemonade for Xiu. The cider disappointed me. Was expecting something sweet but it wasnt. The lemonade was.. lemonade. Hahah. Light and refreshing.

Xiu ordered the big breakfast with extra salmon. Was aiming at this initially but the bacon and sausage really turned me off.

I had the grilled chicken with mushrooms, asparagus and mashed potatoes. So much skin on the chicken and fatty bits. Bleh.

Food was so so. Location is inaccessible. If you have a car, no where is inaccessible nor far, so good for you. It was maybe around 7 mins walk to the nearest bus stop for me. Most probably I wont be going back again.

A MUST shot with the instagram worthy blue door hahaha.

SuanThai Buffet & Nana's Green Tea lattes

Went to this Thai buffet resto.

SuanThai
101 Killiney Road
Singapore 239544
Nearest MRT: Somerset. Exit from back of 313 Somerset, 10mins slow walk from there.

List of all the things in the buffet. We were rather surprised when the bill came. Turned out, they served us the more  comprehensive menu ie. this green page. Turn over and theres a white page with a cheaper option. They look the same to me at a glance. Didnt get a chance to scrutinise further after the bill came. We were informed at the start that the highlighted items will all be served without having to place orders and will only be served once.

Starters while waiting for Kit. Nothing can go wrong with prawn crackers. We had bottomless calamansi juice - soso lang.

Spring rolls, fishcakes and mango salad. Dont really like the salad but its a good change from the other oily stuff.

I think this is the chicken salad. Im not a meat person so this is major turn off because after i zoom in for a look, there are skins all over. #gross. Will taste so much better if i cant taste the skin. Why cant restos use lean meat always.

The stir fried long beans with soya sauce  and beancurd with special sauce at the back. One beancurd each. #whaaa..?? Ok anyway the special sauce tastes like normal thai sweet chili. Hahaha.

Minced chicken with basil leaves and eggplant. Not too bad. Didnt try the eggplant. I dont eat that. Only had a little of this. Kit ordered after we finished the rest of the food.

Highlights of the meal. This dish and other dishes below are part of the highlighted items on the menu. Deep fried whole fish. Not bad. Quite fresh.

Steamed mixed seafood with chili & lime. Only had the prawn and its alright.

Pineapple rice and the green curry. Dont remember trying the green curry. The  pineapple rice is normal.

Tom yam soup with mushroom and prawns. Not bad.

Thai chicken satay, boneless stuffed chicken wing, wrapped chicken in pandan leaf. Satay is not bad and so if the pandan chicken. Stuffed wing is meh.
Thats all we had. #feelinglikeapregnantpig.

Probably wont be going back again. Enough buffet for now.

Since you always have space for dessert, we walked to Plaza Singapura and ended up at:

Nana's Green Tea
Plaza Singapura #03-80/82
Nearest MRT Dhoby Ghaut ofcourse!
Its at the new wing of plaza sing.

Ed had green tea latte. Didnt give any feedback so Im guessing Its normal.

We had azuki and matcha latte with mochi and soft serve. #yumz. The azuki is a little too sweet. Sweet + sweet is not too enticing. Especially when you are already feeling like pregnant pig. The matcha combi is good. Slightly bitter + sweet = good balance. The mochis are too frozen. Kit dropped one ball into Ed's latte and it was thawed alright hahah.

I'm missing Hoshino coffee's matcha latte with matcha softie. #sogonnagotomo.

I've had one of their main meals here before and its not too bad. Average i'd say. Will go back for the matcha.
