DIY Luggage Tag

Told Ed Im making a luggage tag for him so here I go. You will need:

3 rectangle slabs of felt fabric - different colour, 2 for the base and 1 for the lettering. You can use different fabric too but preferably something sturdy since it will be slammed around during check in. Actually felt is a little fragile for this purpose but i wasnt gonna get 2 yards worth of new fabric just to make this tiny luggage tag.

One string. Use something sturdy too. I dont know what mine is called but Ive been using it for a lot of my DIY projects.

Stuffings. Mine is polyester. The kind they used for stuffed toys. I dont really like this. It goes all over the place when I try to pry them apart but I havent researched on other stuffings I can use. Ive had this pack of stuffing forever. It lasts very long.

Cut out 2 base rectangle pieces to the size that you want. Allow extra 1cm on every sides. This is to allow space for the inner sewings.

Also cut out one square of the other colour for the letterings. Make sure size fits and is proportionate to the base.

I wrote out the letters and then cut them out individually. Would be easier to further cut them into the letter shapes this way.

This is what it looks like after every letter is cut. Was planning to make one for myself too but my name has 8 letters so that sounds tiring already hahha.

When everything looks good, start glueing the letters on the base fabric. Do not use the mini super glue type. They dry up too fast, stiffen up the fabric and you wont be able to poke your needle through it. After the glueing, start sewing the sides of the letter or any kind of sewing you want to keep the letters stitched tight. I guess you can skip this part but I want it to look good and be more durable. The letters look a little poofed up once sewn. I like this effect.

Align both rectangles, outer part facing out and insert the string in the middle portion. Id suggest you do a mock measurement on your luggage to see if the length of the string will be ok.

Pin all sides together once aligned. I usually use paper clips. When i use needles they keep poking me. This will help with the sewing. They will usually shift around if you dont. Allow a good excess length for the string to be sewn inside.

You need to sew all around the fabric and allow a small open space at the bottom or anywhere is also ok. This is for you to flip everything inside out once you are done sewing.

I prefer to use sewing machine. Much faster and sturdier and also neater. If you dont have one, handsewn is fine.

Pull out the string slowly through the open space. Use scissors or chopsticks or whatever thin and long to help to push out the inner part. Be careful with the poking. Felt will stretch if you are too rough. And the stretched look is not pretty.

This is after the reversal. Starting to look good!

Grab your stuffing. I prefer to use stuffing since I wanna make it look fat and poofy. If you want to stop here and not use stuffing you can also do that.

Squeeze a little into the opening. If its not poofy enough just squeeze more till your desired poof.

Once done, sew the bottom part up. This part wont look very nice hence I usually try to keep the area as small as possible but if its too small usually  i have problem squeezing the inner part out.

Ta daaa. Not too bad. Colour doesnt match my luggage but Ed's luggage is white so I think it will pop out nicely.

Innisfree Creammelow & Color Glow Lipstick

Ordered these Innisfree Creammellow Lipstick online. Havent seen them at the local Innisfree yet. Both colours turned out unsuitable for my lips. #anotherdarklipsproblem

I ordered creammellow #3 and #8. Who knew on my lips they would look like crap. Grabbed these colour coding from etude site. They have aditional 2 new shades.

Texture is pretty moisturising but the colour chart is very off. Maybe because of my dark lips. One thing i need to remind myself of after this experience is never to order lipstick online without trying out the colours on my lips first.

So after being disappointed at the creammellow lipsticks I went down to Innisfree another time and I saw Yoona's pic and the lipsticks there! oMg ok great finally I can try  on the colours. I really like the moisture level but not the colours i ordered. So tried them on and decided to get this surprise surprise coral colour. What else was I gonna get right. Colour coding  seems a little off but I didnt pay much attention to that. I reached home and realised that i frickin got the wrong range. The one I got from the shop was Color Glow! Grrrrr. I was so annoyed. Best thing is the one I picked has a little glitter in it which I dont like but since I so wanted a creammellow lipstick I just got it anyway. Double grrr. That explains why the colour coding was different from what I saw online. #stupidme

Inner metal tube is different. But you wont be able to tell the difference from the outside.

See. Exactly the same. Wtf. I am still using the colorglow occasionally not because I dont like it but because I have like a bazillion of lipsticks in operation now and my current go to is still my Too Faced Melted.

Sliced off the tip of both creammellow and will be passing the redhot to Angela and the lighter one to my sil if she wants it. She suits these nude shades.

They had up to shade #10 initially but now i think there were few more shades hence my #12.

Looks pinkish here but somehow turned orange on my lips again hahahah.

Innisfree Color Glow Lipstick
#12

Pros:
Moisturising.
Colour payoff is good.

Cons:
You will see little clumps on the lipstick after one or two applications. Not sure why that is. Maybe from dirt or dust or peeled off skin? I cant have that much skin so dont think so. Maybe just dirt. I dont see this on my other tube lipsticks.

This shade has a little shimmer which I dont like.

How are you feeling today?

Just want to share some quotes I found on Pinterest on mostly Loyalty and Honesty. Qualities that are probably almost non-existent these days. Always trust your gut. If its telling you something is wrong, something IS wrong.

Etude House Tint My Brows

Went to the new super huge flagship Etude House store at Wisma Atria today. They have many more new items compared to the other tiny Etude shops.  Ive used up my single 20% off yesterday. What a waste. I got the hair treatment and more lip balm. Will do the review for those next time.

This brow filler is waterproof and comes in 2 shades. I got shade #1. The other is a light brown shade more suitable if you have dyed brown hair.

It comes with instructions on the side which confused me for a while. But i ended up using it like i would a normal brow pencil.

Just like a calligraphy pen tip. Soft and glides smoothly. Dispenses automatically,  no twist cap.

Most bottom stroke is one layer of the tint, second stroke up has 2 layers, top stroke has 3 layers. It is pretty light but i think that is a good thing. You cant build it up to be too strong which always happen if you get too carried away with brow pencil. Colour matches my original brow colour well.

It doesn't look very different compared to my black nature republic brow pencil. The finish is more natural. And i did a scrub test. Usually with one swipe of my finger the pencil will rub off immediately but one swipe wont do much to this tint.

Havent worn this out for  the whole day but i can forsee it lasting the entire day. Usually at the end of the day with brow pencil my brow shape will get distorted -certain spots are starting to bald. I think its because i usually scratch any itch i feel on my brows hahah. My original brow without make up is pretty sparse. Just one patch of healthy growing brow at the front and towards the end the growth is very sparse. Ive been trying to reshape and grow out my brows but the progress is really really x5billion times slow.

There is no spooley and no need for that since the look is already so natural and light. I guess i can save time too since I skip this step.

Etude House Tint My Brows
#01 Gray Brown

Pros:
"Waterproof" enough.
Smaller than normal eyebrow pencil - very portable.
Light tint so you wont overdraw your brows.
More natural finish than pencil.

Cons:
None so far - size wise maybe it will finish very fast if you use it daily

Rating: 4.5/5
Best eyebrow filler so far. I will be replacing most of my pencils to this next round.

The Dancing Crab & Casallena

The Dancing Crab
The Grandstand 200 Turf Club Road
(Old Turf Club in Bt. Timah)
#01-20/21
Singapore 287994

There is a free shuttle to and from Clementi and Toa Payoh MRT.

We went to another of those inaccessible place for early dinner. Reached around 5-5.30pm there wasnt any queue.

After we were seated one of the servers told us we only had an hour before they need the table back. Hmmm ok. The place was not even packed then.

So we ordered one of the combo bags. Our server said there is a promo for dungeness crab upgrade from our sri lankan crab. The upgrade price is probably like 50$ more or so. I dont remember. Anyway we decided to stick with the original combo bag. Maybe the server wasn't pleased that we didnt take up his offer because things went downhill from there.

We ordered also the lobster roll. He asked if we want anything else because it will take very long for us to add on orders. I said we might add on some starters but we still wanna look and decide in a while. He said ok and collected all the menus. I told him to leave one behind and he said that there isnt enough menu to go around so if we want to order later he will pass it to us. Huh? OK. No additional orders then.

We didnt order any drinks and werent asked either. Waited for a while before our lobster roll was delivered and turned out we can self service ourselves for water.

Lobster roll looks nice. But only the bread and fries are not too bad. I asked the girls if we wanna order the fries side then they reminded me about what our lovely server said about additional order and waiting time. Fine. No more fries then. Hahhah.

The combo bag was good. Sauce is not bad. Crab and prawns are fresh. Very little though I feel but xiu said the price is ok.

In the end we spent around 30$ each there and still unsatisfied so we went to another place nearby. Service here is much better. Food is not bad too.

We ordered the mushroom soup which xiu said is good. Hawaiian pizza which is also not bad with the always welcomed stringy melted cheese. Also apple crumble and White chocolate raspberry cake. Both are alright. Felt much better after this meal.

Definitely not going back to dancing crab. Will reconsider casallena only because of the location.

Too Faced Liquified Long Wear Lipstick

Saw this lipstick at Sephora some time a go but didnt really pay much attention to it since I already got a number of new ones. Was thinking that I havent had any Too Faces product yet and I've always liked their packaging so why dont just give it a try. So I did. Lipstick true colour will really only show once you apply them on your lips. Tried so many Laneige shades and I only suit the orangey tone ones. Initially wanted the pink tones. But none look good on my lips.

Tried all the shades for this lipstick too. But none suits me. Got this picture from the toofaced website. Total 6 shades. All super gorgeous but only the coral shade looks alright on me. Am currently obsessed with this lipstick.

The shape and applicator reminds me of one of the Etude House lipsticks. Maybe I will do a review on that next time. I think it really suits matte look application. Helps to really get into the crease and smooth it out and it really helps when you dont want to overdo it, you just have to use whatever is leftover from your previous application over your lips.

This is the first time I tried it on at Sephora. Went home and checked it out on the mirror and its still intact. Decided to get there and then but it was out of stock for quite some time. I might have my chachatint underneath. It looks more red than its actual colour in this picture.

On my way home to my hometown. #shamelessselfie on the airplane. No one was sitting next to me of course. I took a bazzilion shots hahahahah #oops. It looks a little glossy because I applied my lipbalm on top of it. #habit. I think it looks so much better with a hint of gloss in the centre. Gives the #youknowyouwannakissme feel. Hahahahahah #pukes. Whatever.

Too Faced Liquified Long Wear Lipstick
Melted Coral

Pros:
Good colour payoff.
Pretty long lasting.
More to the matte side (some people really like this).
Good applicator.

Cons:
Creases a little (when you smile you can see lines on your lips so you have to smooth it out a little after a while).
Not very moisturising.

Clio Lipnicure

I was watching some videos online and chanced upon this lipnicure. Have been seeing Clio products around but has never been tempted to give any of it a try till I see this item. The thing that caught my attention was - it's supposed to be very tough to remove.

Its the Clip Lipnicure which stands for most probably lip manicure seeing it comes with a lip primer and also a top coat (the clear gloss).

Colour swatches from top to bottom:
No.6 Rumor Coral
No.3 Crime Pink (the one I'm holding)
No.5 Revenge Pink (supposedly one of the more popular ones but so not my colour)

Comes with a tiny curved applicator. You are supposed to apply one layer on and leave it to dry for 30seconds and after that its smudge proof. I did the test on my hand and bought one immediately after 30secs is over. It didn't budge at all!! So incredibly amazing! And Im telling you when I do the scrub test, I scrub HARD. The first picture with swatches is what they look like almost 3hrs after I apply them on. I went for a movie and dinner after and they are still instact.

Amazing on the hand. BUT. I applied my fantabulous pink shade on my lips before the movie and applied bit of balm on top since it feels matte and dry and when I came out I went to the toilet to have a look and behold a grotesque sight. The lipnicure was flaking off. Patches here and there. I did a scrub test on my lips after 30secs before the movie and all is good, it wouldnt budge and and looks ok for first try - was trying to scrub off some mistakes. You need to practice before you get too adventurous start wearing this out. Since it dries off pretty quickly it also means you gotta work faster in smoothing out your mistakes too.

So, i was starting to panic, dont tell me I have to look like this for the next few hours since I still need to meet Jan for dinner and movie. So i started wiping them off and guess what, it came off easily. I think my balm acts as a diluter or remover somehow. Great!

This is what it looks like with JUST a single coat of the lipnicure. Not loving the look! My lips are too dark for this shade, you can still see the edges. That's also why I applied my balm on top when I first tried it. After application you really need to leave it alone for 30secs. I made the mistake of smacking my lips (bad habit) and it messed the whole thing up. After it dries off it feels like you have a little layer of gloss on your lips. It certainly doesnt look like it.

I went back to try it on with the primer and topcoat to see if it will make any difference.

Scrub test after I got home.
This shade is No7. Tension Red.
My balm is really good in acting as a remover. The primer and topcoat makes it easier to remove too. I would say the topcoat feels like any normal transparent gloss. I no longer use this sort of gloss so it doesnt apply to me at all. Primer kinda feels like a normal lipstick yellowish kind of lipbalm.  Im not interested too. What freaking annoys me is i got it full price at Watsons  and when I walked to the other Watsons at PS, it was on 20% off #fml.
On another note, I bought a pair of boyfriend jeans today at Cotton On that Ive been eyeing for the longest time and when I was finally getting it, my bill had 40% off!! #unfmlx2 bwahah so exciting.

This lipnicure will highlight any cracks and  wrinkles you have on your lips. Pre scrubbing is highly recommended. Going for darker might look better too if your lips is not smooth like mine. The matte dark bloody red look is super nice. But I'm in my pinkish craze nowadays. My lips usually suits only orangey colours so i'm try to be a little experimental with lighter shades.

You can easily remove this with oil based make up remover. I tried with my eye&lipmakeup  remover and also my cleansing oil. Both works fine. If you are even more lazy than I am, just apply some gloss or balm before you reach home and by the time you hit the toilet it will probably be ready to remove. Wahah.

This is what it looks like after around 1.5hrs of me drinking and eating my tiramisu. I didnt apply anything else on top.

Most likely i will not get another one. Unless i learn how to work this better on my lips. Even the moussey etude house lips-fit is easier to apply. At most keep you just have to keep erasing and applying till it looks ok. There is no immediate erase for this lipnicure.
