Boracay here we are! Day Four!

It's our fourth day in paradise. I think I went for a walk again the morning? Don't really remember since I'm writing this half a year from the actual holiday. The thing with the blogger app is it's so difficult to write a post from  your phone it's getting on my nerves. I thought using a bigger phone will help but it didn't make a difference. Someone do something yo. Better upgrades! That reminds me.. I better write a feedback for the app.

So today we decided to try on parasailing. Awesomeness. Think i'm more of a get up and do an activity while on a beach holiday rather than just sitting down, basking under the sun sipping my bear - yes, sipping, I might ask for a straw. Forgot the cost but I think it's around 40$? I think it was pretty reasonable. It could have been worse.

Borrowed Jewel's waterproof bag for my shutter remote. Brought up my selfie stick. Good thing they didn't tell me I'm not allowed to do that. It wasn't that difficult manouvering the stick. Just that maybe taking a pic for 3 people is a tad challenging cos we couldn't take a more full bodied pictures. This is when i wish i have a wide lens attachment. Gotta start looking for a good affordable one. So many things to think about when you're taking pics with your phone near water. Will it drop... Will i get a heart attack.. I wanted to try on another ride but they did'nt want to. It looked like another variation of a banana boat - you have to hang on with your hands for your dear life. Woohoo. Too bad.

Jewels said this is a must try in Boracay - Calamansi Muffins! Tastes.. alright. You can definitely feel the calamansi twang. It's nothing too fantastic but good to try. And we ordered our usual mango fix. Wonder how fattening this drink really is. Do they use lots of sugar or the mango is really naturally that sweet.

There is this I heart boracay sign in one of the shopping alleys. Grabbed someone to help us take the pic. Super love it when everyone in the party is included in the picture!

Tried Red Horse. Supposedly stronger than San Miguel. But... OK tastes like regular beer to me. And our mango again for tea break. We made an appointment with the parasailing vendor to go on the catamaran ride - I really forgot what the vehicle is called. Amy got a good deal for an hours worth of ride.

Nothing beats "flying" on top of sea water with the wind on your face and sunset looming in front of you. We decided to take on another ride the next day.

So I went in to this handmade shop and the lady said she can custom names on the string bracelets. I picked the shell charm - Mechelle - Chell - Shell, geddit? Hahah.. Anyway forgot how much these are but not exactly dirt cheap but not that expensive also. For handmade items I would think it's reasonable. I have changed my thoughts on expensive handmade items since I started putting mine on sell.  You are really paying for the crafter's valuable time instead of the raw materials. People who do not craft do not understand this fact, especially asian people who are more scrimpy.

Found this rock climbing wall and decided that I should just give it a go. My first time ever. YES! Been wanting to try it for ages. I think they were both tired cos Amy kept nudging me to give it a go and I just went for it. It was pretty tough towards the top since my chubby legs refused to cooperate and I can sense that the vendor who was waiting at the bottom was gettin frustrated - YOU CAN DO IT, JUST DO IT!! She screamed.. OHKAY..... So i did it. My forearms burnt for a while. Nothing sore the next day. Glad I did it. We had dinner at the pancake house nearby I think. Nothing fantastic.

DIY Headband

I got this flower necklace from H&M. Thought it might be suitable for Jan but in headband form so I decided to DIY it myself. So i measured the length needed. Unhooked the necessary part so i can turn the leftover into a bracelet. #nowastage.

Things you need would be:

The headband of course. Any kind you want. A lace one would be nice too. Or any simple metal necklace or chain that you like.

Elastic band.

2 squares of Felt fabric. Or any cotton fabric will also do I guess but it feels like usually they use felt. I just happen to have loads of these lying around. Black or colour that matches your hair and the elastic band would be good.

Do a quick measure on your head. These end up above my ears. I think it will be better if you make sure its in between your ears or slightly below so when you wear it with your hair up you wont see too much of the elastic band. Make sure when you add in the elastic band theres a resistance aka not loose. It has to be a little springy so it will hold up when you wear it. Just do a quick mock measurement holding it up on ur head. I did a quick measuring, cut off the elastic band and then hold them up to measure again. Once you are satisfied you can start sewing.

There are many holes in the flowers so thats a good thing in this case. You need to make sure that the sewings are tight enough since there will be a lot of tugging     later on.

I sewed into many of the different holes  and also all around it.

Cut out an almost square slab of fabric to cover each side of the sewed up parts. Dont need to be perfect. We can adjust it around and cut it to a better size later on.

Glue around the area. This will help the fabric to stay put while sewing. Depending on the type of glue you use you will need to so this fast because some glue dries up fast and it will be difficult to push the needle through. Mine took a little while to dry but I also had to sew fast. Do not use superglue - the mini tube kind. They dry up extremely fast and when  that happens the fabric will be solid hard. You can forget about sewing anything through it.

Just wrap around the fabric and make sure the part where the fabric ends overlap are in the inner part (part touching your hair that wont be visible when you wear it) and start sewing to make sure all the exposed  parts are stitched up. Make sure there is only a single overlap. If you overlap too many times the fabric will end up to be too thick and uncomfortable when you wear it.

End result when worn. I think the fit is alright. Not too  loose and not too tight. My hair has been in this ponytail braid since morning. Kinda look like Elsa's hair from the side hahhaha. Not so much from the front or back.

The flower design actually acts a little like a comb so the grip is better than if I were to use a plain chain. Maybe i will take a nicer picture next time when I bother to put on makeup and have my hair blown out ahhaha.

Lime Crime Velvetines: Red Velvet & Suedeberry

Jan ordered Lime Crime for us via their website and after 2-3weeks it finally arrived. Package didnt need to be signed for so im not sure what sort of mailing what that. We could still track the package status online up till delivery - thats the most important part. Box is so pretty omg. I guess all this excitement has built up to the point of no return hahah.

Comes with the usual gloss applicator. Formula is not thick at all. Smells like vanilla.

We both had Suedeberry (orange bottom) and Red Velted (red top). Ive been wanting to find a suitable red for my skintone for the longest time but they just wont show up like how I want them to. Takes a while to dry off which is perfect if you need to fix any mistakes or blend anything out. The other similar lippies ive tried dry extremely fast so i have no chance of un-nickiminajing my lips before they dry. Love this formula.

Sueberry on me and redvelvet on Jan.

We did the meal test - applied before we eat to see how it would fare after. They stayed on pretty well except for the centre portion which will wear off if youve had oilier food. But i think since i applied more of the velvetines, it stayed on better aka less obvious fading. I would say its still necessary to touch up after you eat and if you eat really gently like a princess whos not hungry to begin with then you probably dont need to touch up after that hahah.

Red Velvet. Looks pretty goth on me. More on the dark red side when its supposed to look bright red. #damnyouorangeskin. Super not used to this look. I feel like i have to apply a smokey eye makeup to balance it out else its so out of place. BOOM. Look at my obscenely red lips on my makeupless face.

Surdeberry. Doesnt look that orange on me anymore since Ive blended it out. Is it me or every lipstick is starting to look the same on me.

Lime Crime Velvetines
#Suedeberry and #RedVelvet

Pros
Colour stays on pretty well.
Transfer proof once dry but will still come off if you scrub it hard. Perfect for kissing your beau hahah.
Does not crack (there are little cracks still but you can get away with it if your lips are not obscenely dry)
Easily removed (micellar works fine). Or just do the balm application and remove after.

Cons:
A little drying after a while but its still much better than Clio LipNicure dryness.
Will wear off in the centre after eating esp oily food.
A little sticky when you smack your lips together but its bearable. Just dont smack your lips then hahaha.

Verdict:
4/5

RiRe Lip Manicure

So, I went over to visit Angela right before Christmas and she gave me this RiRe Lip Manicure in 07 Chiffon Coral. This reminds me of the Clio Lipnicure that I got some time back. Click here for that review. Have never heard of this brand till Ang gave it to me. Another one of those Korean road shop brands I guess. Will look out for it the next time I go.

Got those lip swatches randomly online. Didn't realise they have so many colours! Super loving the Wine Burgundy. Reminds me of LimeCrime Velvetines in Wicked which is supposedly always sold out. I don't think I can pull that colour off though since I'm too yellow toned. Anyway, Jan ordered LimeCrime for us last night so can't wait till that arrives and hopefully before CNY. #superexcitednaman!

Yep, I jabbed it into the crotch of my Craftoholic bear bwahahah #NSFW.

Bottle is super cute! Tiny - very portable. Has a typical lip gloss stick applicator. I've used this for a number of times already hence the mess. Colour is not too bright, seems just nice. I'm really bad at judging lipstick colour from the bottle or swatches. Have to definitely try them on my lips to know if they look ok on me.

Colour looks super pretty here! It takes longer for it to dry compared to Clio Lipnicure. Which is a good thing because you can still play around with it to smooth it out. Texture is more creamy than Clio's so doesn't really crack if you just put on one layer. This is exactly the kind of colour that Jan will scream "Nicki Minaj". But Jan, NM colour suits me hahahaah.

This is what it looks like after I gave it 3 rough scrub down the middle. Doesn't really budge. Less smudge resistant than Clio since it doesn't budge even a single bit but this is resistant enough.

I applied my most trusted Etude Magic Tint Balm again and managed to rub the whole thing off after maybe giving it more than 5 rough scrubs. This is good for when you applied it wrongly or too much when you're not at home and you don't have makeup remover with you. Micellar lotion doesn't remove this well. I tried it on my lips and only a little came off, you will need a make up remover or an oily balm.

One light application and it looks like this on me. Which is pretty bland and nothing outstanding at all but this is already better than my naked lip colour. It looks more dulled down in this lighting I don't know why. More pink rather than orange when I see myself in the  mirror. Colour feels like the 3CE lipstick I got. Review is here. Slight nude colour which I really like but can't pull off for long either. Isn't it amazing how this looks totally different on my lips. I have so many WTF moments when I try on lipsticks.

OK, slightly better when the lighting makes it look more orangey which is my colour hahaha. I applied a bit of balm on top to give it a little glossy look. It doesn't feel dry compared to Clio. It doesn't feel moisturised as well but I guess for something as long lasting like this, it's already considered not too bad. Few hours of drinking through straw and it still looks pretty much the same lest for the middle portion where it hits the straw, the lines are a bit more visible there but the other areas are still looking like newly applied.

RiRe Lip ManicureChiffon Coral

I will list out the Pros and Cons mostly based on the Clip Lipnicure comparison.

Pros:Lightweight tiny packagingMatte finishingWould look fantastic for people with naturally lighter lip colour (#naturally)Longlasting Not too dryingTakes longer to dry so you can still fix it till you get the look you wantNot sticky

Cons:Very little content - but you only need one light swipe for your lips anyway so it's still acceptableYou need to be lip manicure savvy to get it to look good

Suitable for lazy people like me who doesn't like to touch up.

DIY Friendship Band Watch Strap

We are heading to Boracay mid Nov so I went to dig out my waterproof watch and of course, its a goner. Straps broke in all places when I tried to put them on. Was thinking if i should just throw it away or just the the strap fixed. 2nd option i wont be able to get it back in time for the trip thats  for sure and i couldn't find a replacement option. Might not be worth it too. 1st option, well its 100m water resistant so its really damn wasted if i just throw this away. A diy strap will have to do.

Pick whatever colour you want but id suggest the same theme as the watch. I ended up picking 6 colours. Exactly the same process as the previous heart friendship band i made. This time i picked another pattern. Something less complicated.

You will need:

4stringsx6coloursx50cm strings.
Meaning you need 4strings of 60cm for each colour. 2for each side. Number of colours are flexible. For my size i found that 5 colours would be more fitting for the metal bar length. 6 strings are bit too many but I can still force it in.

Clasps for both ends.
In my case I have this razor blade charm that I wanna use and also the usual lobster clasp.

Pass through one end of the string and when youve halved it, tie a knot to secure it. One side should have 2 sets of colours in reverse sequence. Same colour should meet in the middle. I think this is called the chevron pattern.

Just keep braiding till you reach your desired length. It doesnt need to be very long because of the clasps that you will later use will add on the length.

When you have braided enough, add on your charm or simply make a loop with the strings if you want. I have always wanted to use this rustic looking blade so im including it here.

Make sure you knot both ends firmly and i use superglue at the end to make sure they dont fray. This superglue hardens the strings.

Cant really see the braids from the top. Ithink  my wrist is small enough.  I think this is good. The braid might seem out of place a little.

Ok. My face with the watch hahah. I have worn this while snorkelling and swimming in Boracay and it stayed put. The replacement straps serve their purpose well. Glad I made this instead of looking for an authentic Timex strap which will probably just fall off again after a while. I'm currently interested in getting a Pebble watch because of the rude watchface but is Pebble waterproof. Guess I prob only need one waterproof watch at any given time. Pebble is not pretty though. Maybe next time when they come out with a better looking design.
