Bibimbap, anyone?

Place is really small. We went before 6pm  and we had a little trouble finding seats for 3pax. Luckily these 2girls were willing to swap table with us.

Tofu bibimbap. This is mine. Not bad. I was already hungry when we got there. Seems like the portion is smaller than the other one below that we ordered. The bowls are gigantinormous. Maybe the theory that you have to eat with smaller plates to trick your mind you are eating a lot, really works.

Beef bibimbap. Amy didnt even finish hers. The portion seems bigger than the tofu bibimbap. Food was not hot when we got them. Only realised when Amy asked if mine was hot. I have no problem eating cold food so i guess it didnt even cross my mind at all that it wasnt hot! She said there were hot food on the next table because she could see the steam rising up hahah.

You get a soup and kimchi pickle with the bibimbap.

And standard gochujang to mix of course. Overall not bad. Price came out to be around $10 per pax including drinks. They have limited canned drinks to choose from. I will probably go back to try the noodles and have the tofu bibim again. Or maybe the beef one next round.

My Long Stick

Behold. My magic stick. Bwahahah. Its the recently popular monopod. Actually I've seen this stick around ages ago when we first see digicam in the market. It looked pathetic then. Something you would be too embarrassed to use. It still is, I tell you! Hahah but probably better now since #selfie became word of the year.

This is what it looks like. The black part on top is the mobile phone clasp. Its detachable. The pink handle comes in other colours. Ive seen blue and black.

I usually keep the clasp on when I'm on the run and only detach it when I keep it on my luggage or when it's not in use.

Even though its very embarrassing to use this but it is very useful when you are travelling alone and dont want to keep asking people to take your pictures. A lot of people are very bad at taking pictures too. Imagine having to ask different people to retake your pictures. But if you yourself are bad at taking pictures then probably you wont notice when people take bad pictures of you. You know who Im talking about - people who can post blurry pictures, ok not artistically blurry or just blurry in the background but the main focus of the picture itself is freakin blurry. #excuseyou. Or people who do not have good perspective aka everything is cut off at the wrong places. You dont need to get this stick hahah. You dont need to take pictures at all.

Also very useful when you want to take group pictures and dont want anyone to be left out. Super super useful!

This is what it looks like when fully extended. It takes a little practice before you can take pictures without the stick in it. Amy took this picture of us hahah. Have been seeing people use this stick. And its really a funny view. All the pictures below were taken with the stick. It can really fit a lot of people. You just have to know how to adjust it.

We were the only two people interested in taking the group picture hahha. Imagine how many people you can fit here it's soo amazing!
Liking the view range? Go get one!

Etude House Color Lips-fit

Got this Etude House Color Lips-fit lippie last trip to Seoul. The texture is unlike your usual lip gloss or tint. I would say it feels moussey. The shade I got was in #OR201 Dream Fit Coral.

It feels really dry once you apply it onto your lips. And this lip mousse (I'll just call it that) will not be flattering if you have cracked lips or dry lips or your lips have many lines. The formula and texture kinda eats in into every imperfections you can see on your lips. It looks really orange but its more of a pink once smoothened.

Photo is with lip balm and the mousse. You cant really tell the lines and flakes but they are there! Colour is not as intense as the swatch because i blot them off. It looks horrible on me when its too strong.

I peeled and scrubbed my lips with my fingers this morning while watching tv. #Superbadidea. So its now peeling in the centre. You know the kind of conditoon where you see lots of flaky skin you can peel but if you peel them it will sting like hell. Exactly the situation im in right now. After that i scrubbed my lips properly using this:

Too Cool For School's - Maybe Baby. Has lip scrub on one end and lip essence (lipbalm) on the other end. On usual days they do work well if I use them before I apply the lip mousse. But since Ive screwed up my lips this morning, this didnt work at all. This brand's products are generally pricier than Etude House. I really like their packaging. Besides this I have an eyeliner and makeup fixer, all which Ive gotten from Seoul since its cheaper there.

Smoothed everything out with finger and applied a little lip balm/gloss on top. You have to really smooth them out. Not the kind you can apply without a mirror. And if you apply too much, it looks really scary. And other lip gloss wont work well too if you apply too much on top of it. I learnt this the hard way. They are selling this mousse with a clear gloss which i didnt get  since i dont like lip gloss. This takes too much effort to put on and maintain and im too lazy for that. Have I mentioned that it smells divine! Like bubble gum!

So verdict is: Only get this if you have ugly lips like mine and dont mind all the scrubbing, careful applications and maintenance (which happens every now and then especially after having a meal) or you have pretty moist buttery lips with no flakes or lines then lucky you! This mousse is meant for your gorgeous lips!

Hometown Yumz: Shaved Ice & Chai Kueh

We came back to our hometown again in pontianak, kalimantan barat aka west borneo, indonesia. #nomnomnom fest.

Shaved ice with coconut, jelly, syrup, and condensed milk #diabetes heaven.

Simple fried rice. So yummy and my bro says there is loads of msg in it but i didnt feel thirsty afterwards.

Probably the only place you can find this dish. Its called chai kueh. Rice flour skin with different fillings - mung beans, chives, jicama, and yam. These are the steamed mini versions. Bite size goodness. The golden flakes are fried garlic. #noseporn seriously it makes everything smells so ultra delicious. Its so good i can eat just it with rice.

Fried version topped with fried flour flakes. Dont really like this version.

Same thing from another stall. Much better. Each costs Rp.1500 ie around USD 15cents. One is never enough.
