Boracay here we are! Last Day!

Our last day here in Boracay! Cant wait to go home and also feeling a little reluctant to leave. It's been too many days but I know I will miss it terribly once Im home. Woke up slightly later cos Ive kept my sand shoes and all the bikinis. All packed up and ready to go. We just walked outside the resort and took as many pictures as we could. Selfies for the next 30mins or so hahahah.

Picture of our Resort signboard. I think we took this the day before. Our room is few huts away from this sign which is directly at the entrance from the beach.

Amy said we should pack our lunch from the resto before we leave for the airport since there might not be anything to eat at the airport. We got some sandwiches to go and waited for the guy to pick us up at the resort. So here we go again, hours of bus ride which is pretty confusing since we had to find the right ferry to board and also the right bus to board. Don't wanna go somewhere else than the airport yo. So glad I had them with me. Some people boarded the wrong bus. I don't know what happened to them. Bus ride to the airport felt slightly faster than arrival day but I doubt it really is. One toilet stop and on our way to the airport. Airport was crowded and chaotic. No clear signs to where is the immigration lane and which is the other lanes to get other passes. I think they had to pay some OFW pass or something like that.

We had mango shake again. I will miss that sugary goo. Finally I get to use my TooFaced Melted instead of the bright red Urban Decay lip liner. No choice, it was my only waterproof lip colour.

Finally a shot of all our 3 bracelets. Amy got the horse one since that's her chinese zodiac, and then it hit me... why didn't she get a seahorse instead. We were like OH YEAHHH.... #facepalm. Well too late for that hahahha..

Probably the only pop up shop at the Kalibo airport hahahah..

Summary of our whole trip. I'm so addicted to doing collages. Trip was fun. Can't wait for the next one where I get to molest some whale sharks in Bohol? Waahoo.

Boracay here we are! Day Five!

Finally, it's our second last day before we go back home. Can't believe I spent 6 days on a beach. Record breaking. I think I didn't go for a walk today because we made an arrangement for the catamaran vendor to bring us around to Puka beach. We waited for an hour or so near the resto in front of the meeting point BUT he didn't show up at all. SO Amy suggested that we just take the tuktuk - I don't know what you call it, the local cab. We found out later on after the trip that we've been ripped off. On the way to Puka we paid like 100p (I don't remember the price) for each of us and on the way back it really only cost 100p for ALL OF US. WTH.... Hate it when that happens. Makes you feel like an insignificant tourist and all travel places are out to scam you out of your hard earned cash. It erodes some of your enjoyment from the trip.

So when we reached there I was thinking... WTH! I think the guy dropped us off at the wrong side of the island.I was looking for my big Puka sands but all I see are tiny grains of the usual sands you see but the occasional dog poop. #grossmuch.  Soooo disappointed. But we walked around again and Jewels said that actually the puka sands are beneath the fine sands. True enough.. they are all buried inside. The different tide in the morning exposed different layer of the sand so I think it's better to go back in the afternoon when the tide as exposed all the puka layer and also the lighting is much better for pictures.

Saw this PUKA picture on instagram the night before and we were like WTH why didn't we see that when we went there the first time so this time round it's a MUST to take picture there. Took me a while to figur out how to take the pics for the 3 of us because of lighting and picture flipping issues. But the answer was so simple sometimes I'm amazed how stupid I can be hahahah

Got this yellow bikini at one of the alley shops. Think Amy said it's a local brand but sadly it's not cheap. It think it was around 35$ each for the separate pieces. Not as expensive as the seafolly kinds but still very expensive. Tried it on and it felt really comfortable. Guess I was just in the spur of the bikini moment mindset so I decided to get it. That ate up all the cash I exchanged for bora hahah.

This is the custom bracelets we got. Each one of us had one. I posted this on instagram and tagged the shop and the best thing is, the lady reposted it without crediting me. WTH. Some people are just so insensitive. Jewels notified me but I couldn't be bothered to say anything. Shame on you.

This is near the entrance of the beach where the tuktuk dropped us off. There were many tiny stalls near the entrance where you can buy handmade puka accessories. I think you are not allowed to bring back shells from the beach. There are specific pictures and instructions at the immigration. But I guess who would notice that unless they are caught up in a long queue and are forced to look around while waiting - which is exactly what we did hahaha.. I brought back tiny "broken" frosted shells from the beach. Still thinking what I should do with them. I have always wanted to make some diy projects with them, maybe next time I can make a side table (woo ambitious much, don't even know where to start and I definitely dont' have the equipment for something of that scale) like those you see where they put in shells underneath the transparent glass table top. Or I have seen where wooden table tops have cracks and you just insert the shells in between, display them nicely before you gel them in - it's kind of like a resin look but  i don't know what they use to seal it in. It looks super awesome. That reminds me.. i still have some Maldives shells that I dont know if I should just throw away. If i'm not mistaken, maldives has the same rule - not supposed to bring back specific shells or you'll be fined. Maybe I'll just do a photo frame with the shells and print out the travel pics. But problem with living with other people is, my clutter style of decorating with pictures and cut outs and diy stuff, does not sit well with the other occupants in the house. Damnit.

Finally met the catamaran guy and we went for our last sunset ride. He said he waited for us at the allocated timing but he didn't see us. Yeah right. We had another round of Yellow Cab for lunch/dinner.

Boracay here we are! Day Four!

It's our fourth day in paradise. I think I went for a walk again the morning? Don't really remember since I'm writing this half a year from the actual holiday. The thing with the blogger app is it's so difficult to write a post from  your phone it's getting on my nerves. I thought using a bigger phone will help but it didn't make a difference. Someone do something yo. Better upgrades! That reminds me.. I better write a feedback for the app.

So today we decided to try on parasailing. Awesomeness. Think i'm more of a get up and do an activity while on a beach holiday rather than just sitting down, basking under the sun sipping my bear - yes, sipping, I might ask for a straw. Forgot the cost but I think it's around 40$? I think it was pretty reasonable. It could have been worse.

Borrowed Jewel's waterproof bag for my shutter remote. Brought up my selfie stick. Good thing they didn't tell me I'm not allowed to do that. It wasn't that difficult manouvering the stick. Just that maybe taking a pic for 3 people is a tad challenging cos we couldn't take a more full bodied pictures. This is when i wish i have a wide lens attachment. Gotta start looking for a good affordable one. So many things to think about when you're taking pics with your phone near water. Will it drop... Will i get a heart attack.. I wanted to try on another ride but they did'nt want to. It looked like another variation of a banana boat - you have to hang on with your hands for your dear life. Woohoo. Too bad.

Jewels said this is a must try in Boracay - Calamansi Muffins! Tastes.. alright. You can definitely feel the calamansi twang. It's nothing too fantastic but good to try. And we ordered our usual mango fix. Wonder how fattening this drink really is. Do they use lots of sugar or the mango is really naturally that sweet.

There is this I heart boracay sign in one of the shopping alleys. Grabbed someone to help us take the pic. Super love it when everyone in the party is included in the picture!

Tried Red Horse. Supposedly stronger than San Miguel. But... OK tastes like regular beer to me. And our mango again for tea break. We made an appointment with the parasailing vendor to go on the catamaran ride - I really forgot what the vehicle is called. Amy got a good deal for an hours worth of ride.

Nothing beats "flying" on top of sea water with the wind on your face and sunset looming in front of you. We decided to take on another ride the next day.

So I went in to this handmade shop and the lady said she can custom names on the string bracelets. I picked the shell charm - Mechelle - Chell - Shell, geddit? Hahah.. Anyway forgot how much these are but not exactly dirt cheap but not that expensive also. For handmade items I would think it's reasonable. I have changed my thoughts on expensive handmade items since I started putting mine on sell.  You are really paying for the crafter's valuable time instead of the raw materials. People who do not craft do not understand this fact, especially asian people who are more scrimpy.

Found this rock climbing wall and decided that I should just give it a go. My first time ever. YES! Been wanting to try it for ages. I think they were both tired cos Amy kept nudging me to give it a go and I just went for it. It was pretty tough towards the top since my chubby legs refused to cooperate and I can sense that the vendor who was waiting at the bottom was gettin frustrated - YOU CAN DO IT, JUST DO IT!! She screamed.. OHKAY..... So i did it. My forearms burnt for a while. Nothing sore the next day. Glad I did it. We had dinner at the pancake house nearby I think. Nothing fantastic.

DIY Headband

I got this flower necklace from H&M. Thought it might be suitable for Jan but in headband form so I decided to DIY it myself. So i measured the length needed. Unhooked the necessary part so i can turn the leftover into a bracelet. #nowastage.

Things you need would be:

The headband of course. Any kind you want. A lace one would be nice too. Or any simple metal necklace or chain that you like.

Elastic band.

2 squares of Felt fabric. Or any cotton fabric will also do I guess but it feels like usually they use felt. I just happen to have loads of these lying around. Black or colour that matches your hair and the elastic band would be good.

Do a quick measure on your head. These end up above my ears. I think it will be better if you make sure its in between your ears or slightly below so when you wear it with your hair up you wont see too much of the elastic band. Make sure when you add in the elastic band theres a resistance aka not loose. It has to be a little springy so it will hold up when you wear it. Just do a quick mock measurement holding it up on ur head. I did a quick measuring, cut off the elastic band and then hold them up to measure again. Once you are satisfied you can start sewing.

There are many holes in the flowers so thats a good thing in this case. You need to make sure that the sewings are tight enough since there will be a lot of tugging     later on.

I sewed into many of the different holes  and also all around it.

Cut out an almost square slab of fabric to cover each side of the sewed up parts. Dont need to be perfect. We can adjust it around and cut it to a better size later on.

Glue around the area. This will help the fabric to stay put while sewing. Depending on the type of glue you use you will need to so this fast because some glue dries up fast and it will be difficult to push the needle through. Mine took a little while to dry but I also had to sew fast. Do not use superglue - the mini tube kind. They dry up extremely fast and when  that happens the fabric will be solid hard. You can forget about sewing anything through it.

Just wrap around the fabric and make sure the part where the fabric ends overlap are in the inner part (part touching your hair that wont be visible when you wear it) and start sewing to make sure all the exposed  parts are stitched up. Make sure there is only a single overlap. If you overlap too many times the fabric will end up to be too thick and uncomfortable when you wear it.

End result when worn. I think the fit is alright. Not too  loose and not too tight. My hair has been in this ponytail braid since morning. Kinda look like Elsa's hair from the side hahhaha. Not so much from the front or back.

The flower design actually acts a little like a comb so the grip is better than if I were to use a plain chain. Maybe i will take a nicer picture next time when I bother to put on makeup and have my hair blown out ahhaha.

Lime Crime Velvetines: Red Velvet & Suedeberry

Jan ordered Lime Crime for us via their website and after 2-3weeks it finally arrived. Package didnt need to be signed for so im not sure what sort of mailing what that. We could still track the package status online up till delivery - thats the most important part. Box is so pretty omg. I guess all this excitement has built up to the point of no return hahah.

Comes with the usual gloss applicator. Formula is not thick at all. Smells like vanilla.

We both had Suedeberry (orange bottom) and Red Velted (red top). Ive been wanting to find a suitable red for my skintone for the longest time but they just wont show up like how I want them to. Takes a while to dry off which is perfect if you need to fix any mistakes or blend anything out. The other similar lippies ive tried dry extremely fast so i have no chance of un-nickiminajing my lips before they dry. Love this formula.

Sueberry on me and redvelvet on Jan.

We did the meal test - applied before we eat to see how it would fare after. They stayed on pretty well except for the centre portion which will wear off if youve had oilier food. But i think since i applied more of the velvetines, it stayed on better aka less obvious fading. I would say its still necessary to touch up after you eat and if you eat really gently like a princess whos not hungry to begin with then you probably dont need to touch up after that hahah.

Red Velvet. Looks pretty goth on me. More on the dark red side when its supposed to look bright red. #damnyouorangeskin. Super not used to this look. I feel like i have to apply a smokey eye makeup to balance it out else its so out of place. BOOM. Look at my obscenely red lips on my makeupless face.

Surdeberry. Doesnt look that orange on me anymore since Ive blended it out. Is it me or every lipstick is starting to look the same on me.

Lime Crime Velvetines
#Suedeberry and #RedVelvet

Pros
Colour stays on pretty well.
Transfer proof once dry but will still come off if you scrub it hard. Perfect for kissing your beau hahah.
Does not crack (there are little cracks still but you can get away with it if your lips are not obscenely dry)
Easily removed (micellar works fine). Or just do the balm application and remove after.

Cons:
A little drying after a while but its still much better than Clio LipNicure dryness.
Will wear off in the centre after eating esp oily food.
A little sticky when you smack your lips together but its bearable. Just dont smack your lips then hahaha.

Verdict:
4/5
